    Hi

I have a DVD movie that I need to reedit a promo clip of it, After I done editing I need the edited clip to be converted again to VOB in the same DVD quality.

Since my hard drive doesn’t have enough room to store any expensive file format I thought about making low quality proxy of the movie and when the editing is done ill replace it with the original high quality version.

What format I should use to convert the VOB file to a proxy? :
(I need a format that will allow me to work smoothly in Premiere and have it as preview quality with reasonable weight.)

What format I should use to convert the VOB file to the high quality version? :
(with the ability to restore the edited clip to a VOB again without having any quality loss).

    Thanks

Seems to me like you need to do a lot of reading

https://www.videohelp.com/guides.php?guideid=638&howtoselect=3;6#638 can convert your VOBs back to MPEG-2 for re-author or re-edit. I believe MPEG-VCR can easily edit without quality loss (read re-encoding). As for converting to VOB, that is actually just called authoring, and simply turns your MPEG-2 file into IFO, BUP & VOB files, and almost any authoring software can do this for you.
    If in doubt, Google it.
