  1. I have done a lot of capturing, burning, VCD's, DVD's, SVCD's, etc., but I haven't done a lot of editing.

I have a series of video (AVI) clips that I am stringing together using MovieDV (interface looks much like Premiere?).

I do not want to use any of the sound attached to these clips, instead, I want to add an entire new running narrative that spans all of the video from start to finish but I don't know how.

It is probably very easy but I need some advice.

Can I string all of the clips and transitions together and, while viewing the finished video add the audio as I am viewing it using a script? If so, how? What are the mechanics of this?

Please don't laugh at me, as I am really a "newbie" and need a little direction!

OBTW, my goal is complete this project as a DVD using TMPGEPlus nc and DVDiT! PE.

    Regards,

    Hi jaybird,

I don't know MovieDV (I had a quick look on it's website, but didn't glean much), but I'll base my reply on my knowledge of Premiere 6.0...

You need to add your new (desired) audio to another audio track (if it exists, if not, add one if you can).

As for removing the audio associated with the AVIs, either un-link the audio and video components so you can delete the audio only, or set the audio gain to 0%.

I hope that points you in the right direction... Good luck.

Just load the avi in virtualdub and under audio choose wav audio and browse for the wav file you want to insert and then click ok and save as avi with video direct stream copy.
