    Hi All!

I've read an article that says that once we record a CD, let it "opened", and record something else in the same media, it loses about 10 MB of disk space (I'm not sure about this value).

    My questions are:

    1) Does this comment about the CD is correct?

    2) Does it apply to DVD medias as well?

    Thanks in advance!
    Best regards,
    Joelson.

Yes. 13MB to be precise. It's to do with the lead-in and lead-out. Each new session you record needs those so the more sessions you have on a disc, the more space you waste, up to 99 sessions. I never use multisession precisely for this reason.

I don't have any numbers but yes.

You cannot do multisession on DVD anyway, not for DVD-Video. Only for data. And yes, it takes space.

  4. For DVD, 16 - 20 Mb lost per session depending on the number of total sessions.
