  1. In this guide: http://www.divx-digest.com/articles/dvd2divx5_gordianknot.html They write about how to get the best resolution compared to bitrate. How is this actually calculated?

    Is it like this?

    Example:
    Videobitrate: 1035 kbit/s
    Aspect ratio: 576x304
    FPS: 25 (PAL)

    (1035 x 1024) / (576 x 304 x 25) = 0,24

This should give us a good image quality, according to the dvd2divx5 guide at divx-digest.com, because it is between 0,17 and 0,30

That sounds about right to me - the only thing I would suggest is that some programs say 1 kilobit = 1000 bits, but that shouldn't alter the ratio all that much.

Perhaps enquire in their forums also ?
    If in doubt, Google it.
