  1. Ive discovered BIG problems with DivX 5.2.1

***DO NOT ENABLE DIVXs BUILT IN MPEG4 DECODER***

at least not if youre encoding anime to dvd anyway, because disabling this fixed ALL my problems, i didnt get any more "misplaced pixelblocks" round fast scene switches...

also, if that doesnt help try to disable post-proc, because it didnt make my source look better anyway so i disabled it...

btw, i know i shouldnt be shouting this to the world, someone should probably investigate this further.
    my setup:
    catalyst 12, 512mb ram, 2,6ghz
    tmpgenc (rel 2004), divx 5.2.1
    tmpg settings:
fps 23,976 with 3:2 pulldown on playback (so its 29fps)
CBR/VBR encoding didnt matter, blocks appeared on both encoding modes but i DID use hi quality encoding (highest motion search, 10bits precision and average 8000 kbit/s)

hope this helps you ppl with problems

Did you try DROPPING that 8000kbs to something like 4000-5000 with a max of say 5500 to 6000.....and drop that motion search down a notch or two....christ its only an animation...I'd go as low as 3500 (or less) with a max of 5500 or a CBR of 3500-4500...DO NOT BE FOOLED BY BIG NUMBERS (whichyou think are better).
