I have backed up nearly 400 dvd's. I started out by using DVDXCOPY but quickly switched to using DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink. I burn using Nero, and always let the program verify the written data after the burn. The problem is that I didn't watch every backup I made, although many of them I did.
This week with family around and such we've been watching a lot of movies, and the vast majority of my backups have not been playable. They all start out fine, but at various points in the movie begin to glitch out until they stop playing. Can anyone shed some light on what my problem could be? Could my DVD player be going bad? Could my media have deteriorated that quickly? Could all of the burns been mest up from the start?
Since it's Christmas time, I can go get myself a new DVD player. Any suggestions on a player that can handle DVD-R media the best? Thanks!
I'm using an Emprex drive on a Windows 2000 computer. I rip with Decryptor, reauthor with Shrink and burn with Nero 6 Ultra.
