    Hello,

    http://www.detnews.com/2004/technology/0412/23/B02-40792.htm

I'm NOT underage but this is ridiculous - Except for "HITMAN" and a few other extreme games most games are tamer than PRIME TIME tv

And NONE of these Restriction laws have taken root.

It's parental responsibility that's the problem with violence. Media doesn't have as strong an influence as they claim. If parents take care of their kids then they won't act out the same way....

So what if they play doom???? They should KNOW that it's not real and not ok to shoot somebody....

Yeah, but sadly you need no qualifications to give birth. It's difficult for the government to strike a balance.

I'm all for a ban on sales to the under 18 for violent games. our local shops won't sell violent games to young kids, but if i asked my folks they bought them for me. well, i provided the money and they did the buying at any rate...

    Hello,

It's just that they spend time on these issues that are family related when they let small companies that rip people off stay in business. It's just that they don't focus on what they should.

Ok I think I should stop there it's almost getting political. Here we go:

    END RANT.

    There.....

Where have these people been? Have you tried to buy an M rated game lately? They don't sell them to people under seventeen! I've heard the store clerks turn the kids away.

But all it takes is an older brother, an old looking friend, or an older cousin who wants $5, and the age limits mean nothing.

    Pretty much.

As you say the only practical thing is for parents to educate their kids. but even this doesn't work properly, over here it's illegal for kids to be truant - parents are responsible. we've had a few cases of parents jailed because they don't make their kids go to school....
