I want to burn video i have downloaded to dvd, with some video of vhs. I believe d/l video is mpeg 4? can i burn it with other types ie mpeg 2 and if so, do i go through the same procedure i currently do which is converting to vobs with divx to dvd then burning with shrink?
Or is it best to keep them seperate ie mpeg 4 on one disc, mpeg 2 on another?
Sorry if this has been asked several times, i looked briefly, but i need to burn asap before i go away.
    Thanks

I wouldn't mix MPEG-4 and MPEG-2 on the same disc unless it is burnt as a data disc. You need to run the MPEG-4? through AVIcodec and find out what it really is.

If your final product is DVD that will work on a settop player, then convert them all to DVD compliant video and audio.

If you cannot play raw MPEG-1/2/4 on your DVD player, then you need to convert every file to DVD-compliant MPEG-1 or MPEG-2.

Find out what you have here
    https://www.videohelp.com/play.htm#identify

Then use your favorite MPEG encoder to encode everything you want to put onto a DVD into MPEG-1 or MPEG-2. Then author as per normal. THen burn.
    If in doubt, Google it.
