I have been considering the purchase of 90min CD-Rs. I have Nero 5, and my cd burner does support overburn.
However, I do have a couple questions...
1 - Is it really worth it to order the 90min discs? Or should I just use 80min discs for wider compatibility (though lower bitrates for vcd/svcd/etc)?
2 - Does anybody know of a reliable website to order 90min CD-R's that will be of good quality?
http://www.blank-cd-cdr.com/cdr-media-90---99-minutes.html?GTSE=GOTO>KW=90+min+cd+r
^ this is the site that i'm looking at. I've found it via msn search.
I was wondering if anybody has had experience ordering from them or any other site which they would recommend.
thanks....

Hello,
Couple of notes:
1 - I got some 99min cdrs on ebay and they worked just fine. Though they only work on a computer.
2 - With single layer dvd burners coming in under $50US and blanks being so cheap you'd be MUCH better off with a dvd burner
3 - If you go to a higher bitrate on the vcd/svcd spec your making X(S)VCD and those aren't nearly as compatible even if your dvd player will recognize the high capacity cdr.
Given all those conditions you can do it though you might wish you spent a little more and bought a dvd burner(my opinion of course
).

www.allmediaoutlet.com has Ritek 24x but they will burn at 48x.
I have 90 & 99min CD-R and they work in all of my players. -
I have used 90min CDR's and they work in everything I have that will accept a disk. Have overburnt slightly with no problems either.
It's kind of handy to have a box as if you build a disk and find its a little too big for 80min, then you can burn it without having the hassle of fiddling with your work to get its size down.Have a nice Day
