I need a guide/walkthrough anything!!! help

i am trying to do several things with this program (first get the real-lib file)..but i want to take a avi and turn it into a dvd file ( a video_ts folder if possible)...but i also want to add subtitles...I have the subtitles aleady formatted in either .srt files or.sub files...I need a step by step guide to doing that....I have not found one online as of yet....also how do I join 2 files together to form one dvd file...or can Itake two "video_ts" folders and join them together.

Anyhelp would be appreciated...I seem to be able to gewt the video part to work (somewhat) but i can't get the (seperate) subtitle files (.srt and or .sub) onto the video ...either as permanent subs or subs I can dictate wether or not I want them on the movie....thanks.
