  1. Anyone had the same problems as me running this under Windows XP?. Worked great under Win98SE but now wont capture properly under XP. Stuttering video is the main problem. It has all the symptoms of DMA not being enabled but it is. Of course, Hauppauge have been as helpful as usual, no answer to my three emails. Spec of PC is:

    AMD 1.33 266FSB
    512Mb DDRam
1x40Gb ATA100 hard disc NTFS system drive
2x40Gb ATA100 hard discs RAID 0 NTFS on Promise Raid Controller.
WinTV PVR PCI with latest 1.5 drivers for WinXP
Motherboard bios flashed to latest version too.

I knew I should have left the system drive as FAT32 and kept Win98SE damn

  2. I'm running under Win2k with that card and can't encode to MPEG at all, the pictures gray with narrow green vertical lines. You may wan't to try the new winXP WDM drivers from the site, as well as looking at SHS forum (can't remember the address, I found it thru Yahoo)

  3. actually shabubu I had the same problem under Win98SE originally. Solution was to go the Pinnacle site and download the PCI Performance Enhancer tool and run it. It worked for me so it might be worth a try. You could also try moving the PVR card to another PCI slot, generally the AGP port and first PCI slot share an interrupt which can cause problems.

I downloaded and installed the latest XP drivers the other day, but still get stuttering video etc. Time to email Hauppauge again.

WinTV2000 should be 3.35.19295 and don't for get the Soft MPEG Decoder drivers to.

P.S. There be WDM + MPEG drivers coming soon win I don't know at this time but I'am sure it be soon as MPEG drivers full working with WDM drivers we see them my guest is in next 2 or 3weeks that should solve alot of problem when working with an OS like Win2000/XP that where made for WDM drv.

  6. Yeah tried the latest drivers from the FTP site, no difference. Funny thing is I can capture uncompressed AVI video with few problems.., and other captures via my firewire card work fine. It's definately a problem with the MPEG chip/drivers from Hauppauge. Guess i'll just have to wait and see if they WDM drivers work properly.

Incidently all hard disks report running at UDMA 5/ATA100 and diag tests confirm this. Write caching has been on and off with no difference. Latest motherboard bios installed, PVR card moved to various PCI slots. No difference.

  7. Actually, where would we find WinTV 2000 3.35.19295?. The revision on the FTP is still 19206.

    Thanks

  8. Main reason why I am satying with WIN98 gold, My WIN PVR works perfect not gonna change to a new operating system until they fix all these problems, same type of problems under WIN2000 also. I understand XP is great, but not worth it to me to loose my PVR operations, I use this device every day and until I have a problem with it I will still use the old WIN98 system.

  9. Damn. Stripped out all the drivers, editing the registry to remove all Hauppauge and WinTV references.

Rebooted, reinstalled the latest drivers and WinTV2K application from the FTP site. Guess what, no difference. Still getting video that stops and starts and stutters under Windows XP. Tried the Win2000 drivers too and they do exactly the same. Incidently, the demo version of Power VCR II 3.0 works fine at all MPEG resolutions so it's not a performance issue with the PC. Why should I spend extra on another application though, all I want is this damn card to work. Come on Hauppauge, get your act together.

Same problem here. It really pisses me off and you cant cet thos ******** to answer your email. I called them once and asked if there is a way to change there stupid templates and they said no. Then someone gave me tha address to shs's site and got them. After that i wrote them from a fresh hotmail account calling them liars and that their tech support sucks. It kinda makes me want to go back to 98.
