  1. Hello all. I am kinda new to the vcd world. Am wondering something.

I have an mpeg-1 file. I put it on a cd-r with Nero, and played in in my dvd recorder. The picture is very fuzzy.

Can someone recommend any software that will help me shrink the dimensions of the file? I want the picture more clearer which of course means messing with the dimensions of the file and making it smaller.

thanks for any help you can give me.

Well, start by reading What is VCD? (top left). Anything you author as VCD has to meet VCD standards, otherwise it's known as an XVCD.

If you alter the frame size (I assume this is what you mean when you say dimensions), your player must be able to handle this change (not all can play non-standard resolutions. If you make the frame size smaller, then your DVD Player will have to resize it more anyway to fill your TV screen, which IMO will make it look even worse than it currently is.

The first rule of video applies throughout - if you put garbage in, you're always gonna get garbage out.
    If in doubt, Google it.
