I believe you can just do a straight copy in nero or any other burning program with playstation games (I'm not sure, just from what I've read ). XBOX games are A LOT more complicated, but software such as Craxtion make it a fair bit simpler.
    If in doubt, Google it.

  3. will they fit on a cd?

  4. stupid question, stupid answer:
NO, they will not fit on a cd, hence why they are on a DVD in the first blooming place. *sigh*.

FYI, there's quite a lot of playstation and XBOX games that WILL fit on a CD and can be played from a CD.
    If in doubt, Google it.

  7. Right on Jim. For years Sony released most games on CD, they didn't even use the DVD capability, and even today some of them are small enough to fit.

For starters, you need to get your ps2 or xbox chipped. Secondly, I recommend you do a search for a thousand other related theards. If all else fails, go to xbox-scene.com or ps2rules(I think thats the name).com...they should be able to help you out.

  9. Stupid question huh? Well not if you don't own a game system and haven't used a xbox or whatever.
    twit.

  12. Because I'm checking into which type to buy- Thought I might get some friendly advice from those who have a game & copy them to cd.
Was looking at the games, very expensive) and since I got a cd-dvd burner, thought I'd ask you nice people if they can be copied.

No need to be asses about it. Geez

You are in breach of the forum rules and are being issued with a formal warning. No warez!

That's called Pirating or Warez there spummerr. Which is against forum rules and is illegal to do.

They can be copied, but this is not the forum for that. Why not try something simple like a google search?

"backing up PS2 games" returns 1,350 hits
"backing up Xbox games" returns 1,490 hits

and you need to get it straight, I am not an "ass" I am a "*******" and am working towards my "Whole Ass" Degree, so as I said before....

  14. Huh? This whole site shows how to copy dvd's etc. How can copying my own video game be illegal??

man.. dude.. you have not a clue.. it sure does show how to copy YOU OWNED movies for backup only.. if you were to READ the rules you oule know this.. and i challenge you to find one OPEN topic on this forum that there is something not legal going on..

you are getting this response from people because of your lack of self help attempt.. IE read other posts here..

and yes PS2 and Xbox games can be copied to CD but those are the CD versions..they are released on both.. if the game is on a DVD it will not fit on a cdr.. same as anything

This "whole site" is about making backups under what is called FAIR USE! Not making copies for you friends ...

    JSB

  18. I'M NEW AT THIS. And no I don't have a clue. That's why I'm asking.

Can't people reply and help new users without being so darn rude?

And I never said this site was doing anything illegal. I was surprise by his answer because of all the copying info on this site.

    Goodbye!

  19. I never said I was going to make copies for friends. Don't post lies. The copies are for myself.

    My answer was not rude.

Gamecopyworld is what the title implies.

It is making copies of games you own.

this was the reason for most of the hostility.. your are implying that you are not going to buy the games but copy them. and we cant and wont help with that.. if you look around the net.. like google it.. youl see that people are able to back up their own games and play them.. they take the original and store it so it wont get messed up.. 22. My reply wasn't directed at you bazooka. Thanks for you answer

I think I cleared it up a bit with a PM to spumerr. No need to pile-on

For clarification: Copying DVDs is illegal ...even if you own the original. But the Fair Use explanation makes the legality debatable, so it's allowed here ....at least until a legal precedent is set.

Copying a friend's game or DVD is not allowed ...it's illegal ...and it doesn't fall under the Fair Use definition.

I think it was that line above that got you black-listed on everyone's warez-o-meters

It implies (whether it's true or not, just how it sounds) that you are looking to copy rather than buy those expensive games. Now whether that it right or wrong, only you can tell. Having been here for 11 months (and probably lurked for longer than that), I think most people (including the mods) would expect you to know the rules by now.

As mentioned though, this is videohelp.com, not gamecopyworld.com The general feeling I've received from the dedicated gaming sites is that they're waaaaaay more elitist than here, if I were you I'd bury your head in a couple of thousand google pages, because the jibing you received here will be nothing when compared to the flaming you receive on the gaming sites for your lack of research.

EDIT: Shit, Cap, I've just woken up, wrote my first novel for the day, then you come along and cut my lunch
    If in doubt, Google it.

Jimmalenko is right. It was that reference to the expense of legally buying the game, and the immediate mention of copying that earned you the yellow.

I think this thread has run its course
