    Hi

I burnt my 1st backup tonight after purchasing my Pio 108. I used DVDShrink & DVDDecrypter following a few guides from this site...

After I burnt in Nero, I tried the disc in my player & every thing was fine apart from the film automatically starting with subtitles. I have to remove them via the remote.

Is there a setting in 'Shrink' or 'Decrypter' that I haven't set right?

Also, my wife has a number of DVD's in Spanish. Is there any way I can back them up with the main language being English & Spanish as the second language?

Many thanks guys for all your help

It's DVD Shrink that causes the problem. I'm guessing you have re-authored and left the main movie only? Right click on the movie file on the left of the re-author window and select Set Default Streams, it's all there

Yes, I think I did only save the main movie. I'll try this setting next time & see how we get on...

    Thanks a lot

If I understand you correctly Naith, what you want is English audio without subtitles. If that is the case, yes, there is a setting in DVDShrink. For a movie without subtitles, go ahead and do everything you have done but right click on the main movie (Title 1) and you'll see a "Set default streams". Click on that and you will see the options that are available. I had the same problem with my backup of "Passion of the Christ".

As far as the second channel being Spanish, that will be set there also (unless I'm mistaken) which is entirely possible. Good luck and hope this helps you.

    Thanks for your suggestion

Actually, I'd like to keep the Spanish & English audio PLUS the english subtitles (for my wife's sake).

Is there any way then to change the primary language (which the film starts in) from Spanish to English?

    Thanks

I think so, in the options described above i'm sure you can ask it to display what subtitle you require.

I'll experiment then with my DVD-RW's...

  8. Actually your player has something to do with it too... one of those settings in Shrink "hints" at the subtitle and lets the player decide whether or not to display the subtitles by default. I have three players, two of which will display the subs by default unless I specify otherwise. It's probably good practice to specify the hide sub-picture if in doubt.
