    Or even 6x cause these 30 minute burning sessions are getting to be too much. So if someone could tell me what media to buy that will burn at 6x or higher I would be very happy. "No hacked firmwares please tried them all and still had the slow burns."

    I have tried a number of different firmwares in my Nec 2500, and finally settled on Herrie's 107V2B5. I burn PRODISCR03 at 8x with very good results. RICOHJPNR01 at 6x with very good results. Extremely cheap "MEDIA ID001" at 8x with no problems.

    I believe the PRODISCR03 should burn at 8x with the stock firmware.

    not sure which media goes with those media codes?? can you let me know what brands those are???
