Help !
I have burnt 2 DVDs now that play perfectly on my computer (Power DVD) but when I put them in my home DVD Player ( Panasonic ) they are in black and white.
Any ideas as to why this might be happening?
Any advice will be appreaciated.

This is the classic behaviour of PAL/NTSC problems. I'd say that your DVD player can't play the format you're trying to play.
If in doubt, Google it.

The video is : Peter Frampton Live in Detroit.
I am using NERO 6 to create a DVD disk and restored the video_TS files to a directory. Like I said, the DVD plays perfectly in my computers DVD drive but B&W in my home unit.
My home DVD player : Panasonic DVD-S35
Is there other buring software that can maybe get around this problem as my Panasonic machine is brand new and I would hate to think I bought the wrond DVD player to meet my needs.

Perhaps it should be added to the FAQs that PCs generally do not care if you play a PAL or NTSC disc on them, but TVs and settop DVD players are a whole different matter. Many a time, I have been asked why disc X or disc Y plays in black and white or with rolling vertical sync by people who just assume their equipment will play back anything.

The total download is a VIDEO_TS directory filled with the required files to play the DVD. I uses NERO 6 to create a DVD. The NERO program adds the required AUDIO_TS directory and then requires me to insert the files for the VIDEO_TS directory.
Every DVD that I have restored with NERO has produced this B&W effect on all my TVs but play perfectly in my computer.
This is what I am wondering.........Is there a buring program that will force the burn to be a PAL / NSTC or is the format (PAL/NSTC) set in stone when the DVD is made?

First, you're veering on the edge of announcing that you're trying to make discs of pirated content.
Second, the framerate, resolution, and colour system of the video files are pretty much set when they are originally created. So if they are PAL, they would be so when you downloaded them. You cannot add PAL files to a disc and tell the burning program to just burn it as NTSC - they have to be converted first. Converting them, however, will always introduce artefacts, the most obvious being an interlacing effect where every second frame is a blurring-together of the ones before and after."It's getting to the point now when I'm with you, I no longer want to have something stuck in my eye..."

By golly, you're right. Not that I particularly care, but I suppose if the site was intended to be help in the art of piracy, it would have been called PirateHelp.

Just trying to understand all this new tech..........that is all.
Everybody downloads stuff off the internet and if someone tells you that they don't then they would be lying.
Pirating an artist's material is wrong. IMHO, you are pirating when you make copies and then try to make a profit of the artist's performance or recordings. Simply downloading them and viewing them at home is a very common practice in these times.
I have a simple personal policy. I will download and check out selected DVD, MP3s etc......if I find that the download is worthy of my personal collection, I preceed to the local music shop/video store and purchase the release.
All these artists are not stupid. They know people are checking out thier material but just not in the same way we were foreced to check music out before in the past. With the aviability of broadband speeds and the hundreds of files sharing programs, the door is wide open for this kind of activity......the key is to use the internet and high speed connections to PREVIEW releases before buying them.
Personally....I find no harm in that.
