Do you break up the workload.i.e. cover certain forums? It must be alot of work to look at every post made. It would be redundant as well. Do you check out new posts in the "ffmpegX bugs and suggestions" ?
side note-is it possible to link a bookmark?Say if there is a 3 page thread and you want to reference a post in the middle of the second page.

That seems to be where many warez posts start.
There are a few other very busy forums like Computers, News, and Media that will get errant posts and cross-posts. ALso, a slow scan of suspicious sounding threads that look like warez might be hinted at.
We also go to the posts that haven't been answered yet to see if we can help.
Lots of PMs, both informal warnings and positive PMs about a particularly excellent post.
There are the lists, which I haven't been assigned to yet, but I should be soon. Lots of reviews, hardware linking, software reviews and lots and lots of outdated stuff that needs reviewing and updating. Bad links that need cleaning, etc., etc.
And I'm still a noob mod and haven't learned a lot of the tricks yet. My fellow mods have been patient with my posts in the mod forum, and Baldrick checks in throughout the day to see if there are any problems. A PM to him and it usually gets taken care of quickly. It's a well-oiled machine
My fellow mods are the greatest bunch of guys you could ever hope to meet
I do it with lots of coffee, a cheerful and patient attitude (most of the time), and little sleep. But I wouldn't change a thing

Yep.OT is wild alright. I rarely say something I don't mean unless it's in jest. The other mods have been so patient with me so far - especially BJ_M who often has to follow behind me and PM me when I screw up
They've been great - having to deal with noobs all day and a noob within their ranks too

See. Flaystus said it.
In fact, the character Sean Connery played in The Rock, who knew all the dirty little secrets about the government? He was based on a moderator right here at Videohelp.com -

Saw it in the theater and busted out laughing. I'm not usually good at picking stuff like that out, but that one slapped me right in the face.

Hello,
Just curious, do you mods plan shifts to make sure somebody is always online??? How do you plan vacations???
KevinDonatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw? -
Nobody really plans anything. I'd let the other guys know if I'm going away for a while, but on the whole I think we just come on whenever we're online. I scan the forums on a low level while I'm studying - that's what I'm doing just now.

Hello,
Thanks Cobra! I was just thinking there might have been a master plan out there. So I see you just go when you can.

If there was a master plan, do you really think he would announce it?

Already leaked.

What about those of us who have fuel-injected engines?

Hello,
Another question:
Do you guys have an emergency powers act in case somebody is sick or something? And do you have some kind of organizational hierarchy to distribute duties???
