How do you mods do it?

Do you guys have an emergency powers act in case somebody is sick or something? And do you have some kind of organizational hierarchy to distribute duties???

We have a mod "football" like the president has. It contains vinyl, and a list of all the practical jokes offline has played over the years, so we don't lose those ideas.

No official plan.

Just works out well that the places the moderators are from are mostly separate time zones.

For example, the Australian mods will be browsing whilst the European and North American mods are asleep or at work and vice versa.

There's normally 2 or 3 mods online at any one time so if its a bad situation you can discuss it with them.

Sometimes the mod bot operates in stealth mode so his handle doesn't show in the "users online" area at the bottom. Catches quite a few scofflaws that way.

It can tell if you use that IP for any other handle in the past or future.

I've been a mod on a few boards. Users can pretty much say anything they want about you & you may never get a chance to say your side. Because the boss doesn't tell you what they said. Smacks the face of the Constitution that says we have a right to confront our accusers...

Mods usually have a private message board that they discuss stuff but its no where as interesting as the general message ones.
