TV capture without advertising

I can´t find anything with the search, maybe I don´t know the right words?

I would need a TV capture software, which doesn´t record the advertising. I know, there are Hardware recorder, with which this is possible, I don´t know if this is also possible with Software recorder.

The signal is not digital (cable) and the TV program is german - I don´t know, if this makes difference for the software?

Also it would be nice, if it could be record directly to DivX, the Hardware is fast enough (I think so), but it´s fast enogh to record directly to DVD - but this is only a wish

I haven't seeeeeen any such software. HOw do the software see the difference between the advertisement and the serie or movie? It could be very simiiiiiiliar.

I use a program call Beyond TV, produced by Snap Stream Media. Use to be called Personal Video Recorder. It allows for automatic re-compression to DIVx after the file is captured and can be set up to do this on a schedule you decide. It also incorporates a option called "show squeeze" which takes the completed MPEG-2 file and gets rid of the commercials without you having to edit it. It cannot do this on the fly however. Like Baldrick said, software can't do this yet. You can set the program up to squeeze out the commercials at a time you decide. I have mine set up to perform these tasks at night between 12:00am and 5:00am. Program allows streaming on your home network as well as the ability to access your computer on-line to set up or change a recording. Many other options available as well. I know the program is being sold in Canada and Europe as well as in the USA.

many thanx, I will try it today - it seems to be that what I´m looking for. It doesn´t matter, if its after or during record, I only don´t want to spend to much time for searching the 3-5 comercials in every movie and cut it out manually.

I agree, and don't really use the show squeeze feature. I do all my chopping in other programs, better control no doubt. Takes all the fun out of the hobby.

Besides it fun seeing how fast you can trim them out!
