Has anybody ever had this particular prob? I just finished burning 4 of these discs., each one as they came out of my Pioneer 108 had the 'printable' white surface peeling off. One of them was so bad that I was able to lift the entire surface and peel it completely OFF to reveal the silver top of the disc!

Yup, Supermedia store. F01s. I went through one 50 spindle already without any noticable problems.. but this second spindle has been horrible. Discs failing to verify at 8x, unreadable sectors towards the end -- One even failed at 4x. And now.. im up to about 9 coasters in this spindle so far, and i still have like 25 to go. (4 insta-coasters from the printable surface crapping out!)
Here are some pictures I took of the failed discs:

Just look at the public folder named 'prodisc' -
To be honest if i was you i wouldn't use anymore and see if you can get a refund on the full 25.... Good chance that you could screw your burner up if that stuff comes of inside while burning....
Not bothered by small problems...

Thanks for this post. You save me from a waste of money and time. It has been a while and time has lulled me into less fear of Prodisc quality. Thank goodness I have a large stock of old HQ S03s. TY only from here on out.
Still a few bugs in the system... -
I still use Prodiscs and have never had any problems in 1400 of them. No need to worry when you've got the NEC 3500.

I too have had problems with the new S04's. I've had about 6 coasters out of this 50pak. I had stopped verifying them after burning. Now I test everyone. Some will come up with bad blocks in my dvd-rom, and all good in my burner. Never had one coaster with the S03s. Now I'm wondering about the F01s, since they replaced the S04s because they wouldn't burn right on Pioneer.
Problem is, I like hub printables, so TY is out. That leaves Ritek/Ritdata and I heard there were problems with those too.
Man this really sucks, because I need to make an order soon
EDIT:
I just looked at my firmware for my 106D and it was 1.05
I just flashed it to 1.08, so I'll see if that makes a difference with my S04s that i have left. I will also give Prodisc one last chance. I noticed supermedia doesn't carry the 4x print to hubs anymore, just the 8x, which is most likely F01s. If they have any problems, I'll RMA them and switch to Ritek/Ritdata print to hubs -
Someone up there doesn't like me. Everytime it seems I've found a great disc to use, the manufactures decide to screw them up.
I just recieved a 100 of these from Meritline yesterday, and now I find out I may have purchased lemons.

well-- i have had mixed results with SAMSUNG DVD+R which is YUDEN001--4X media and i am not impressed.

you'd think that RiTeK and Prodisc would stay with a good thing. But I guess that is just plain stupid of me to think they would want to continue making huge profits. Wonder whats next? I am having a hellova time finding 4x Prodisc S03 Silver Inkjet printables. I don't mind the extra few minutes burning, I want a sure thing. I also want my cake and eat it too, meaning I want them to be silver holo printables. Too much to ask? Seems like it.
