Hi folks,
I have a Pioneer108 using Teon 8x DVD+R media.
Disc ID: CMC MAG-E01-00.
As you can see I have attached a pic of the DVD Decrypter's analysis of the media. It is capable of 1x ~ 16x. So far, I have manage to write with 7 1/2 minutes at 8x or 10x. I would like to be able to write at 16x at around 5 minutes or so. Can this be done?
Thanks...

It's still not there
What do you mean? Just try it out and see if it works.-Yar, matey!- -
You can burn it at 16x on the 108. However the media won't be able to be read in most players. I have had no success with burning any low grade media past 4x speeds. Hope this helps.

You want to write at 16x in 5 minutes? WOW! Does this kind of writer exist?

You'll notice that even the 1 16x Verbatim DVD+R disc did not acheive a 5 minute burn.
You must be using the hacked firmware to overspeed the media. The best results will be achieved at the rated speed for the media. If you want to burn at 16x you'll have to buy 16x. Besides, the difference between 16x and 12x isn't a whole lot. So stick with 12x max for your burning pleasures.
