  1. Chris,

Ive had a few stabs at testing the latest version, firstly, GOOD NEWS! - the (s)vcd project I did could be viewed on my standalone so the compatibility is definitely going in the right direction.

The created DVD did struggle slightly with the link from the VTS1 menu item to the actual film, but I don’t know if this is a software issue or a glitch on the disk from the burn or something. The VTS2 works fine and mostly the VTS1 does too, so as it is intermittent, I think it is doubtful to be a software issue.

Im going to try and run a couple more (s)vcd projects during the week and see how they go and will report on them in here. Fingers crossed I think the (s)vcd process is about there!

I tried an avi conversion yesterday, and I am still getting that "scratched disk" type behaviour I mentioned before (during one of the beta 4 releases I believe) - I dont think this was ever addressed in further releases but I just wanted highlight it again just in case. Is there anything I can do in my settings that may improve it ? - I think there is a slower conversion process mentioned but I do not know if the glitch in the resulting video files would be fixed that way. To save me wasting a few disks if someone can mention if they have had a successful Avi conversion (or others to comment if they are encountering the same problem) - it may help to pin down the issue.

Once again good job Chris. I have recommended your software on some torrent sites as an all in one tool for vcd conversion (as everyone else is suggesting complicated methods). Hopefully more people will see how good it is.

    Thanks

  3. Ive got a 512 Connection so I the UL rate is about 25Kb/s (not gonna be easy to Email a 800Mg Avi).

I have only tried 2 so far. I dont know off hand whether they are Divx or Xvid but will try and find out later.

Do you know if all your ones that worked were Divx / Xvid ? - If you let me know one or more of the ones you did too, I can see if they work for me ok.

I should be able to get most things for testing purposes.

    Thanks Chris

  4. Using TFO Codec Finder, here are the file details

    File A:

    Name: #####a.avi
Movie Size: 693.90 MB or 710,558 kB
Movie Length: 93 mins, 30 secs.

    Video Codec FourCC: xvid
    Video Codec: XviD MPEG-4
    Codec or Variant Installed?: NO!
    Video Width x Height: 640 x 352
    Video FPS/Bitrate: 23.976 / 821 kbit/s

    Audio Codec: MPEG Layer 3
    Audio Bitrate: 192 KBit/s
    Audio Channels: 2 (Stereo)
    Audio Samples: 48,000 Hz

    File B:

    Name: #####b.avi
Movie Size: 700.78 MB or 717,596 kB
Movie Length: 55 mins, 20 secs.

    Video Codec FourCC: xvid
    Video Codec: XviD MPEG-4
    Codec or Variant Installed?: NO!
    Video Width x Height: 640 x 352
    Video FPS/Bitrate: 23.976 / 1542 kbit/s

    Audio Codec: AC3-Digital Filter
    Audio Bitrate: 192 KBit/s
    Audio Channels: 2 (Stereo)
    Audio Samples: 48,000 Hz

NB Does SVCD2DVD require the specific codec installed ? Also since these are both xvid, was that the codec you couldnt get to work ?

Anything you want me to try, let me know.

Ok, I have being able to replicate your issue. And i have been able to resolve it. I just now need to think about how to detect such an AVI file in order to process them accordingly.... I shall release a new build once i sort it in the next few days.

Thanks for your effort in this.
