Thanks, I just ordered some new IBM Deskstar ATA/100 HDDs that are exactly alike, so I can put them on the RAID.
So if I take my burner off from my HPT370 RAID controller and put it on my VIA VT8683A normal IDE chain, my PC should boot back up normally? Cool, cool... When my new drives come in, I wil do all of that moving around then, so I don't have to swim around inside my machine twice. Thank you so much for replying!

just a thought, but maybe moving stuff around inside the case alters the airflow just enough to make a difference in the CPU's temp, which ultimately affects its behavior...

Hey TibrO, i'm back! well, on a very limited basis, but atleast i'm back! sorry to hear about the troubels you've had, why didn't you replace your old board to get it replaced ? same for the CPU, if you still have them and don't want them around, ship them over to me, i'll pay the delivery
And now i'm glad I didn't buy the RAID version
Email me for faster replies!

After replacing my parts and booting up again, Windows 2000 now boots up in about 4 minutes.

I had the same problems...is because you changed motherboard.
There's only one solution as far as I know: reinstall windows!!!
Bye

I did reinstall Windows, but it didn't change the stalling during bootup, or the stutters. I am still waiting for my hardrives patiently, and won't move a thing until my new drives are in anyway. Thanks for the replies! And Sefy, the only things that don't work on my old 8KTA3 are the USB ports, but I am keeping it to possibly make another PC once I have enough left over parts from all of my past upgrades and such, since the EPoX boards come with extra USB ports! The old CPU is dead, though. Completely dead. It had like missing corners from the core and stuff! And I don't even know where I put it! I just lost track of where I put it down once I had my new 1.4Ghz in there. Other than not having my new drives, everything seems to be fine, though.

it is recommended to format c: when replacing the motherboard. I do this for a living. The reason being.
1. You old hardware profiles or still in windows
regardless if you see them or not. If you start in the safe mode and look in the Device Manager you will see all your old hardware.
2. Different motherbord, different resourses and addresses.
You will see your old motherboard resourses in safe mode too.
3. Reinstalling windows will fix it.
Not even. It will simply repair corrupted files. Not solve your problems.
You only need to format c: when replacing the motherboard not a video or other PCI device. You can deleted old PCI devices from the Device Manager in safe mode. -
also, if you're capturing to one of those hard drives (not the IBM's) you might want to move it to the other IDE channel. channels 0 and 1 are multitasking, master/slave is not.

Alright, my new drives came in and I installed only one of them, because I ran out of power cables, which I just ordered a 10 pack of, for devices. But now it goes like this:
Onbaord VIA6863 PCI IDE Busmaster Controller
Primary (IDE0) Master - IBM Deskstar 20GB HDD
Primary (IDE0) Slave - Western Digital 8GB HDD
Secondary (IDE1) Master - Pioneer DVD116 DVDROM
Secondary (IDE1) Slave - Creative CDRW6424E CDRW Drive
Onboard HPT370 Highpoint Technologies RAID Controller
Primary (RAID) - empty Waitnig for other IBM Desktar (video)
Primary (RAID) - empty
Secondary (RAID) - empty
Secondary (RAID) - empty
And now Windows boots up as fast as ever, if not faster. I can't say that it is faster than when I had ATA/66 drive and 900Mhz proc, since my observations were disrupted by upgrading to the new ATA/100 hardrive, RAID mobo, and 1.4Ghz proc. But it should be faster since they are newer, better parts.
