Has anyone any info on upgrading the hard drive on my panasonic e85 . I would imagine the physical aspects of this would be very easy to swap drives but then you are left with the un-enviable task of trying to find what source protocol panasonic use . Is this something anyone else has done/tried or is this not recommended . Cheers guys , Steve , Plymouth , UK

Short answer is no, you can't upgrade the HD.

It is possible to put in a new HD (atleast in a DMR-HS2), but the Panasonic will format it to the original size. I don't consider this an upgrade. Someone claimed to be able to upgrade the HD, but the process was never successfully duplicated.
