Hi.
Does any one knows of any capturing software, such as miroVideo DV
300 DV tools, that will capture according Start/Stop signal from Sony D
cam? Can Pinnacle Studio DV 9 do this?
I am using XP Pro SP2
Thanks
Felix

I'm pretty sure scenalyzerlive can stop based on input, so if the signal is halted by the camera, capturing stops. Don't know about starting though, although starting isn't too bad really - start the capture on your PC then start the camera playback. You'll have a couple of seconds to edit out but this shouldn't be too big of a hassle.
If in doubt, Google it. -

Here is to clarify something.
I am using Sony D8 TVR103 cam, with Pinnacle miroVide DV300, this setup was working without any problems even on my old system (P 166MGz, 96MB Ram, 6GB HDD [7MB sustain rate] ) on win 98 / 2000. Now I've got new computer (see computer details) with Win XP pro. Apperantly, DV300 drivers do not work w XP, however some said they found the way around it.
The are two things I like about DV300, one - it will work even on slowest system, and if any drop frames happend it will come back and recap them. Second - it will capture each clip to separate file, using Start/Stop (S/S) signal on the tape. The only drawback is that it takes twise the time per tape.
Anyway, as I looked at Studio DV it has the option to capture using S/S signal, whitch makes my DV300 a uselles junk.
During yesterday's try using Sony D8 - TI Firewire - Win XP - Studio 9 my preview window did not work, I suspect some drivers problem, and after decoding it in TPMGEnc Plus (DVD template) the output was worst than VCD.
I will try to do some digging in to the problem, but your help will be appreciated.
Felix.
