  1. Is there a way to overburn a cdr if my cd-burner doesnt support burn proof. I tried burning a 707mb svcd with nero and other programs, even though the burnproof option is enabled, but it rejects the cdr saying the file wont fit. In CDRWIN the burnproof button is disabled, so i guess my sony spressa 12 X doesnt have the burn proof option. I was wondering if there are other ways to burn a svcd file more than 700mb on 700mb svcd.

  2. Overburn and burn-proof are essentially 2 different concepts. Overburn is to burn over the "official" capacity of that particular CD-R. Burn-Proof is the ability for the CD-R Drive to protect against buffer under-runs that render a CD useless. (ie. a failed burn)

Have you activated your overburn facility in Nero? Also, I'm pretty sure that Sony drives don't tend to support the ability to overburn.

  3. Sony 12x does not support B/proof technology. Sony 16X and above do!

  5. You are missing the point that burn proof has nothing to do with being able to burn longer/larger files! Overburn is the setting you need to set in your CD burning software which Nero can do! I don't know about the other CDWIN...So no need to buy a new machine !!!Just read posts and info more carefully
