I have two computers in my house that are networked together and one of them gets alot of use and the other (pentium 200) doesn't get much use. I was wondering if the speed of a computer has any effect on the encoding quality. I'm not worried about how long it will take, just if it will make my video jerky or not encode right. Does it make a difference?

straight conversion from another video file would be no problem.. just start it and check back in a day
I convert to svcd on my p2300 with no problems
just dont have other things open during the encoding.

the speed of your processor doesnt effect your quality but speed ....but you dont care about the time sooo i guess your all set

Only problem would be using CCE, cause for that you need a P3/Athlon (though your not using that, so I don't know why I brought it up), be prepared for long waits though.
