  1. I'm upgrading my daughter computer from a Athlon 1.1 Ghz to a AMD 2800+ Sepron running at 2 Ghz and 333 Mhz FSB, do you think this is a good choice ?

If you have one of these CPU's let me know how you feel about it.

    Thanks.

I have an AMD Sempron 2500+ with the Thorton core. I am very pleased with the performance- about the same as a similar GHz rated Athlon XP. I have not tried overclocking it but I can tell you temperatures range from 96' F to 104' at very intensive times with an average below 100' F depending on the season. This is with the stock fan.

yeah they're pretty good. the only difference i've really ever read between sempron and xp is that the xp is better at multi tasking. but from what you're upgrading you'll see a huge difference

I put a couple of boxes together with Sempron 2200s and they work great. I used DDR3200 memory and set the FSB to 400 with no problems and not much rise in CPU temp. The setups are very stable, running at 1900Mhz. No problems after a month. I think it's a good CPU for an economy computer setup.
