i just had a random thought....

lets just say that...I have a widescreen full D1 video....is it possible through interpolation to make that HD (1080i) quality?

or i have a 4:3 VHS tape...can i interpolate it to full D1 quality, with all the resolution benefits?

i just had a really random thought about that, but do you think its possible?

the short answer is no ... but....

but you can of course resize something and even slightly improve it in some cases -

Some players now upsize output to 1080i through component outputs, but I can't speak for the quality. Frankly, until I can afford the AUD$20k plus required to buy a decent HDTV, I don't see the point. I haven't yet seen a Plasma under this price that has a good picture, and the Sony HD tubes are so stepped along the edges I can't watch them.

With the proper video hardware (detailers, resolution boosters, $$$$), it's somewhat possible.
