  1. Hi,

Whenever I play a DVD in my DVD-ROM, I get no sound regardless of what software I use (Windows Media Player, PowerDVD, Real). CDs on the other hand play just fine.

This only started happening recently. Not sure if it's related, but I recently installed some codecs that made the media setup on my computer unstable--I think the Tsunami filter pack replaced some files that Windows XP Service Pack 1 needed. I had a hell of a time trying to fix the damage.

    Anyone know a quick fix?

    Thanks.

    Hello,

Do you have ac3filter??? That might help. And try reinstalling powerdvd just in case.

If your cds play fine then your soundcable is hooked up ok (or onboard sound is good).
