This seems like an easy question to answer, but for the life of me I cannot find an answer.

    Here's a bit of history:
I usually use Windows Movie Maker 2 to capture, edit, add title overlays and such, then export out the completed AVI to be encoded into mpeg2 via another set of tools.

However, I am having some problems with Windows Movie Maker 2 crapping out on me with certain DV-AVI files read in from my camera. No idea why, and it is frustrating.

I have tried Nero Vision Express, but can't get it to do the scene detection.

    Current info:
So, I went back to Adobe Premier 6.5 and it had no problems with the DV-AVI file. Realizing I also had Adobe Premier Pro that I never installed because I stopped using Premier a while back, I loaded it.

It's a great app that is really difficult to pick up. There's some good how-to's which got me going.

    The question:
BUT.. one thing I rely on in order to make my title overlays is the date/time stamp for the "clips" that get analyzed in Windows Movie Maker 2. In other words, when I put my title overlays up, I like to include the month and date in the overlay, but I cannot seem to get Adobe Premier Pro to tell me what the date/time is of the scene I am looking at.

Since Windows Movie Maker 2 does this by default, it would seem that Adobe Premier Pro, which is a far superior program, would have that capability, too..

I just can't figure it out.

    Any help would be great!

    Hi wesmoc,

This might be what you're after: DV_Datecode

Egads.. you're kidding>!!? What total crap.. How could they miss such a simple but important feature?

Ah, well. I guess Adobe Premier's out of the picture, then. Back to the drawing board..

    Thanks for letting me know!
