I am completely frustrated with Roxio. I edited digital home video using Adobe Premier and then exported it as AVI file. Then, I converted each AVI file to .VOB, .BUP, and .IFO files. I did this because ROXIO DVD CREATOR would not successfully burn a DVD playable on DVD players with the imported MPEG2 files. So I decided that I would forget about having a nice menu screen and viewable chapters, etc. I decided to use the converted .VOB, .BUP, and .IFO files (done by WINAVI) and create two folders on a blank DVD - AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS. I placed all of the IFO, BUP, VOB files inside the VIDEO_TS folder and burned a DVD+R using ROXIO's burning capability.
I need someone who is patient enough to lend their expertise. A few friends have tried to help before, but this has gone on long enough. I have come to the experts of experts at VideoHelp. Who is up to the task?

Download the trial version of CopyToDVD and try that. (Just right-click the folder and pick "copy to dvd", then it'll say "hey that's a movie right? and you say YES burn it as video.)
If THAT works, then we can proceed from there. If not, the problem is not Roxio! -
Your willingness to help is appreciated.
CopyToDvd could not install on my PC as it said it was a corrupted file. I tried to download it again from the software sight as trialware, but it gave the same error msg.
If I convert three separate AVI files into DVD-compliant (.VOB, .IFO, .BUP) files using WINAVI, can I just use the WINAVI burning feature to burn these three onto one DVD?
If so, would I be able to skip through from one video to another as I would with "chapters?" -
You have to AUTHOR the files. Sorry. I'm thinking WinAVI doesn't do that.
As for CopyToDVD, there are about a dozen mirrors. Hold on I'll try one...
I go to:
http://www.vso-software.fr/
And click "download", and under CopyToDVD I click "download" and then save the file to my desktop. Here we go... 50%... and... DONE.
Now I run it...
Next, next, next, yes, accept, next. Hey look, it installed!
Dunno where you were getting it from, but y'know corrupted downloads from web sites AND badly burnt discs? Hmm... -
Your mirrored site worked and so did CopyToDvd.
First of all, thanks a lot for your help. I can't tell you how long on and off I have been working on this.
Secondly, would you suggest that I just purchase a license for CopyToDvd? It is very simple to use so maybe I should stick with it. Let me know if you have any other suggestions on this matter.
My final related question is how can I get multiple video files on one DVD? I want to be able to skip through each "chapter" or video file from one to the other. I don't care if I have a fancy menu for these home videos though. I appreciate any suggestions on this last topic! -
Here is exactly how I do my movies:
First I use Multimedia Center to capture the video and use the DVD Quality setting under Personal Video Rcorder
Then I simple open that video in TMPGE DVD Author Pro and use chapter cut to cut unwanted scenes. Make Menus and export the DVD files to a pre made folder.
Then I use Nero (advanced mode, default is simple mode) And I burn the dvd files using the Burn DVD Video Files.
Simple as it gets.
Hope that helps.
I only use Premiere if I want to add effects and such. -
The software I am currently using is CopyToDvd.
I need to know how (assuming it is possible) I can burn a DVD which I can skip from file to file as if they were chapters. Again, I am not ready to make menus, I just want to skip between several files that I burn on one single DVD.
Can anyone help me so I don't have to waste another blank DVD? -
Perhaps they should rename this website, video.com, because I see less willingness to help and more of a tendency to mock and poke fun at those trying to learn.
I already have four separate files in DVD format (.VOB, .IFO, & .BUP). I was only asking if I could just send all three of these into CopyToDvd just as I did for the one file that I already burned to a DVD.
Is there someone who can take a minute to explain the correct way if I am going about it wrong? -

I'm not trying to be mean. Honestly I'm not. You've actually caught me in a relatively GOOD mood.
I'm simply saying that it's getting exponentially more complex.
You have JUST mastered the first step - successfully burning a DVD.
Now you want to know how to author multiple titles onto one DVD, something which is a bit harder. I suggest reading the guides. I too use TMPGEnc DVD Author when necessary, although that's less and less lately.
You could use Nero... or even EZ Coaster Creator, although Roxio seems to have not been treating you too nicely. What you're asking to do isn't VERY complex, but it's a good sight MORE complex than burning a movie which is something you have JUST mastered.
I'm not picking on you - just suggesting that you can't learn everything overnight, and the curve gets steeper, not easier.
