  1. What's the best way to add deleted scenes on a DVD into the main title?
The idea is to have one "complete" movie.

do you want to keep original menus?

I'm not too sure how to do it keeping original menu's but I have a guide that uses DVDRemake and allows you to keep original menu's intact

if it's a movie only then you could use DVDShrink and grab both sides of the movie. You can then use Vobedit to rejoin the 3 sets of VOB's. DVD2One also has a join feature for movie only and this is seamless so there is no need to join them afterwards

Ooh, no I think he's asking how to INSERT the deleted scenes INTO the movie...

If he wants to APPEND them then certainly your method will work, but if he wants to INSERT them that gets ugly.

  4. Thanks for your responses.
Gurm is right, I want to insert the deleted scenes (they are usually on a second disc) into the original movie.

Good luck, man. That's a big hairy ugly operation that involves a TON of little working files, demuxing and remuxing multiple titles... splicing/splitting... it's just more agony than it's worth, TRUST me on this one.

just put everything on one disk -- and add a chapter jump to the scene and then add one to go back to the main movie ... simple and quick , no re-editing required...

you can even set up a sub menu selection to play with and without deleted scenes

@rtren, I knew you want to insert the deleted scene and wasn't sure which you wanted, movie only or full disc

@Gurm, how would joining the two split halfs to either side of the deleted scene get ugly with a movie only? . You would have have 3 sets of VOB's after Shrink. The movie before the scene, the deleted scene and movie after scene. Using the VOBEdit join guide you could join all 3. It's time consuming I suppose and I wouldn't bother doing it

there's probably a few ways for movie only as for full disc I had this GUIDE but you need DVDRemake

I think you could use Shrink to create the 3 Titles and edit the commands to jump seamlessly from one Title to another. I know that 2COOL wrote a PGC Guide but I'm not sure if it's seamless (maybe someone can confirm this?)

@BJ_M, I don't exactly follow what you mean but I'd like to know a little more if you can expand on your method please . Is it for a movie only or full disk?

It would get ugly because... you have to split/splice.

Most movies that I've played with recently have all the deleted scenes run together in one title.

I suppose "ugly" was a bad word and "exorbitantly time consuming" would be a better term.

    More trouble than it's worth...

I think MackemX has it down here. Most deleted scenes would be separate cells or chapters so you'd just have to rip with file splitting by cell to create one VOB for each deleted scene. Used in conjunction with DVDShrink's Start/End Function, it is pretty easy really. Once Shrink is done, use this guide to join them all up and job's right.
    If in doubt, Google it.

lol, grabbing them via shrink's reauthor aint ugly to split them. It's the putting them back together that's probably a little messy and time consuming as you say but some like stuff like that (I did once when I had more time to play with )

that's where the 'free' part of software takes over for me if it's a long process. Some 'free' methods take time and if you keep using them every so often then this time adds up considerably. My 'free' time is worth a lot to me these days . I sometimes use macromaker as that can work great with tools like Ifoedit for doing a boring dummy strip for example . I've even paid coders small $ to make me some simple personal apps if I can't semi-automate a process myself. These take most of the boring processes away while I'm at my PC so I can save time and waste it doing something else

nice guide jimmalenko , it will save me digging out that other one at pandora.net or something all the time

  11. Thanks to all of you for the help.
I'll take a stab at jimmalenko's process. (Will probably be back for more help.

Here's another option you might try. I have done this twice using TMPGEnc DVD Author 1.5.26.73. I used DVD Decrypter to get the VOB's on disk, then add them together in any order, and length, with DVD Author. This means you are stuck with DVD Authors fairly plain "moving menus" but its fast and works great.

I did The Big Sleep, added back the apartment search and interview at the DA's office. And Ronin, used the ending were the Irish girl is killed by the IRA.

I can give you a detailed walk-through but I think its straight forward.
