I have a HP nx9110 Laptop with a DVD+R/RW writer running Windows XP. I can burn CDs with no problem and play DVD movies also, but when I insert a DVD+R, the drive just doesn't see it. I downloaded the latest firmware from HP and when I run the program, it doesn't even see that the drive exist. I've thought about upgrading my BIOS, anyone have any other ideas?
Please let me know if you need more info.
btw - I think the drive might be made by Sony, but I'm not sure.
Thanks

I am sure I understand. After you upgraded your FW the drive is not seen Now? Maybe the FW upgrade corrupted the drive and now you have a dead drive.
