I'm using TMPGenc 3.0 and TMPGenc DVD author to make my discs. I've noticed a discrepency of what it reports the maximum capacity of a disc.
TMPGEnc says 4200MB is maximum. DVD Author has 4438MB as maximum. Do they just report it lower in the encoder, so you don't go over while adding menus in the authoring program? What is the correct capacity of 4.7GB DVD discs?

Strictly speaking, the capacity of a 4.7GB disc is 4,700,000,000 bytes, or 4700MB in base-10-derived "human speak" -- which equates to 4482MB in base-2-derived "computer speak".
It's odd that TMPGenc 3.0 would report the maximum as 4200MB, considering that 2.5 reports it as around 4400MB... maybe it's a bug, or maybe they are leaving a little head-room on the assumption that you'll be adding menus and such when you import the finished MPEG to a DVD project...
