I'm far from an expert with mov files but I would probably use a program to convert the mov to avi and then avi to bmp. A forum search will probably reveal which tools are available to do this.
Try mov2avi and avi2bmp (all forums) for starters. These may or may not be specific tool names but will bring up threads where the topic was discussed.

  3. that sounds like a lot of work, don't you think ?

    try this:

some quicktime movies comes with a certain protection that you can easy detect by looking in the "edit" tab, and checking if the "CUT,COPY" options are usables.

after opening your quicktime movie, put the timeline marker in the frame you want, and then hit "COPY", go to paint, and paste your stuff.

If the "COPY" option appears unusable, then get an unprotected MOV and drag your quicktime file into the same window.

Now, put the timeline marker in the frame you want, and hit copy, that's it.

    Pretty easy huh ?

some advice: take the pic in the original frame size and aspec ratio, and then resize in photoshop using "bicubic option", use a little of unsharp mask, some gamma correction, and you'll get a pretty decent picture.

    give it a try.

For a few frames I'd just hit print screen or alt/printscrn and then save the image but for a lot of pics I'd still prefer the images on my drive. I'd then use a vb routine to print all files in my pic directory. I'm not saying it's the best method for a few images but letting software convert is a breeze compared to tagging each frame by hand when you have hundreds of images to extract.

  5. i was planning to suggest him "print screen", but for some reason, i didn't want to complicate the thing trying to explain how to get rid of the "OVERLAY" control.

But of course, for a lot of frames, like you said, is always important to use a third party software.
