I have pictures from a friend taken in 1949 on a DVD. I want to isolate some of the pictures. I can't ask her to go through her pictures again.

How do I convert the slideshow to power point, or capture individual pictures

    your hi-jacking a thread

but the few slide show discs i have seen did not contain video files.

just copy the files to your PC to a folder of choose, then use a photo slide show program to open the files and extract the pictures

what program did she use to create the slide show, kodak, adobe photo shop, photo elements, ulead,

ask her, then get the same program and open the files

there is a chance your PC already has the means to display and print or extract these pictures

    1) Welcome to VideoHelp. Please read the rules before posting, thank you.
    2) Please don't thread-jack. I've split this off as a separate thread.
    3) This is not a forum for private counseling. It's a community, where you get answers in the forum.
    4) Read the stickies - https://forum.videohelp.com/topic239865.html

Now, if your slide show is in Video DVD format, the best resolution you'll get is 720x480/576 (NTSC/PAL) - Not exactly excellent material for high res printouts...

Most DVD slideshows are in fact video - either video tracks or mpeg encoded stills. While many players will play back jpeg files, jpeg is not part of the DVD standard, and DVD slideshows are not made up of jpeg files.

Mats has pointed you in the best direction, and unfortunately you will never get stills from your DVD that match the quality of the opriginal photographs.
