here in the USA we pay around 215 per gallon for regualr unleaded.. 225 for mid and 235 for highgrade. thats per gallon.. but its a little different depending on the state you live.. LA and NY pay a bit more than the rest of us.. so sif you pay about 4 AUD per gallon which works out ot be about 6 USD per gallon.. wow.. got a moped? lol.

btw thats a new developement.. we were paying about 1.60 a week ago.. and a year ago it was 1.30.. and 3 or 4 it was under a dollar or right at 1 dollar per gallon..

Here in Australia if we hear of an Arab oil-field worker going off sick so that they were one barrel production short, we see the price jump the next day at the bowser by 40c per gallon under the banner of "Sudden drop in World oil supply - demand critical". any excuse ...

    The prices make me sick.

When we were in Egypt last winter the price at every gas station we saw was one Egyptian pound/liter. One Egyptian pound = $0.16 USD So that's less than 60 cents a gallon

I'm running on LPG and that's 47 cents per litre today.

LPG is expected to go up very soon due to seasonal factors on the northern winter.

The gas is priced on "world parity" and in my experience does show as usually more expensive for us Aussies during our summer.

I just saw LPG as priced at 54.9’ a litre a nearby fuel outlet.

I recently noticed that there is an upward pressure of LPG in recent weeks and you may see the price of LPG to up around 70’ a litre or more in the coming months.

The LPG depends on the price of oil too and this would reflect on the price of LPG with seasonal factors overseas.

LPG isn’t cheap like it used to be. The increased demand for it over the years have pushed price of the fuel upwards ever since and the price will continue to rise.

I can clearly remember LPG at 15’ a litre way back 1998.

It is going to get worse in the future and it won’t be as an attractive, alternative fuel by then due to increasing taxes by the Australian Government.

  17. We get poor fuel mixture in Aussie land so
I believe. I've heard that a lot of European engines
have to have their ECU changed to cope with the poorer
quality stuff we get and even then that is the so called
    premium unleaded.

When I drove a Beamer I always had to be careful
where I bought petrol. Now that I drive a Holden
and I can fill up on just about any old junk.

  18. I long for my old dual fuel car that could take both LPG and petrol.

Nothing like 33 cents for a litre of gas.

    $1.79 per gallon ... and that's expensive.
I bet if I looked all around, I could find it up to 10 cents cheaper.

    What is LPG?

Prices in Hawaii are $2.55 for regular, at my local Chevron. It's about 20 cents cheaper at Costco, but the line is always ridiculous. I used to go fill up before work, because it saves me about $4-5 per full tank, but I usually get up late.

    Regular UL is 87 octane.

    One of two things:
    our cars are better?
or our break too fast and we don't know any better?

Sooo.... how long do your cars last?
Many 10-year-old cars are still on the road here (and many much older)

I never shop around for gas. Most I would really save is maybe $1.

I did have a dual fuel, 2.5 tonne, 5 litre powered panel van for 5 years until 2002.

The vehicle like that to run on petrol can be as so shocking in cost and so expensive.

Today would be prohibited for me to drive it at $AU1.20 a litre.

The big car and running on LPG did save me heaps of money than running on petrol burning like fire.

It isn't worth having it now due to ever increasing costs of maintaining a classic old 1978 vehicle and I sold it to a surfer who resides on the north coast of NSW.

It is too old anyway and the insurance would be impossible due to its age.

Lovely memories and I missed the beauty.
