I have been using Super DVD Copy version 1.69 on my laptop computer for a while and everything was fine until a couple of weeks ago: the application is no longer working properly. It makes the split of the DVD movie into two discs, it prompts for a blank DVD media, but then it doesn’t start burning. It basically gets stuck. The “elapsed time” keeps going while the “time remain” never moves from zero. I wait a couple of hours, and nothing happens. When I click on “cancel” I see that the application is stuck and I have to close it with task manager. The blank DVD remains intact. I can still burn CDs and data DVDs using other applications, so I'm pretty sure that there's nothing wrong with my DVD-RW drive.

    What can it be?

Also, can I use another application to burn a DVD that I have saved on my hard drive using super DVD copy? Is it still going to work?

    Hello,

You can also try dvdshrink or dvddecrypter in the future

Does it make the video_ts folders or does it do it in iso or another format????

If it's video_ts burn the folder and you'll be just fine (along with the audio_ts folder for max compatibility ).

If it's iso any burn program will do it for (any dvd burning capable program that is ).

    Thanks a bunch, Kevin!

super dvd copy creates video_ts files. That means I can burn the movies that I saved on my hard drive using any other DVD burning application? Even drag & drop?

    Hello,

No... dvdshrink doesn't burn on its own unless you have nero...

Just use the burning software that came with your dvd burner and burn it in data mode. Set the video_ts folder as the root directory as in d:/video_ts (and include the audio_ts folder if it was also created).

    Cool

Now let's take it one step further: I didn't split the movies when I saved them on my hard drive, so now they're gonna be bigger than DVD5. How do I make the split or compress the folders if super DVD copy, the application that created the files, is kaputt??

    Hello,

You can use dvdshrink if you want......

I think your best bet would be to find a program that will make an iso out of your video_ts folders. Then you can open that in dvdshrink and compress it to fit a dvd5.

Another option is to get tmpgenc dvd author. You can load the vobs there.... Make the menus and everything... then compress the authored folder in dvdshrink..

Plenty of options... also check the guides on the left under "How To" for more info

well, I had a quick look on videohelp and on the web. I haven't seen anything that could help (convert VOB to ISO)... But maybe I wasn't looking for the right thing... ??

You didnt look hard enough, or didn't know what to look for.

Imagetool Classic is what you need I believe, try googling for it.

You don't need to have an ISO for DVD Shrink to work. Shrink can load the Video_TS folder quite happily.

    Cool, thanks guys...

First of all, a universal piece of advice for y'all: don't get SuperDVDCopy cuz their after-sale service SUCKS.

Kevin, I've tried to burn the video_ts folders with the general DVD burning software that came with my laptop but, as I thought, it created a data DVD.

I downloaded DVDshrink and it happily recognizes the folders I created with sdc (thanks, Guns1inger!).

At this point I guess my best shot is to get Nero, so that I can let DVDshrink do the whole thing on its own... Right?
