What do you guys recommend, i've dumped ritek because the last 3 lots have had obvious defects just looking at them, must admit, up untill now, i've had no bother......

Taiyo Yuden seem to get praise here, so how do you rate them..?

anyone else about to dump riteks..?

i'm also considering giving datawrite greys a go, but the supplier i use, SVP also known as Blankdiscshop here in the united kingdom have changed the media code from fuji to prodisc, any thought..?

i need good compatibility on stand alones, my writer is pioneer 108, latest firmware.

tia on any contributions to this thread

Taiyo Yuden are the best, Prodisc are very good indeed. Try the {DV 3156} Bulkpaq Inkjet Printable (8x) DVD-R in Spindle Tubs of 25 they are MCC dye and £5.69 for 25 they're a bargain. In fact it's the same dye as {DV 3150} Photo Printable Verbatim (8x) 4.7Gb DVD-R Disc in Spindle Tubs of 50 but half the price!
He's a liar and a murderer, and I say that with all due respect.

  3. Which Riteks have you been using? I have never had any issues with the 4x ritek printables from svp.
Sad to see that the datawrite 8x have changed though... I knew i should have ordered another 200 the other week....
Only issue with the TY i can see is the price....

UkDvdr Have some datawrite 8x with a new fuji dye "DYEINFO: FUJIFI LM0 "
Looks like the old 03 has gone....

I use the Datasafe, and the Datawrite Yellow, both 4x's, and ritek printable, and ridisc's 8x's, its the yellows that have been dire, but also, i'm sick of removing the bits of dust/debri on all riteks prior to burning.
the ty's i've got here (100 spindle) are spotless when viewing the writable surface... but i dare not send out as i'm unsure of compatibility with clients standalones.....

Well there is only one way to find out..
Just add a note that if they dont work you will replace free of charge, with a explination of why you have changed media... Though at the price of TY's that going to eat into your profit marging a lot. I think the TY's should have good compatability with most players, but untill the price drops by at least 50% i not buying them..

Maybe i'll continue to use the riteks, but avoid the Datawrite yellows, but also, i'm gonna try the TY's with customers (as you suggest) and also try the Datawrite greys, which seem to be the most popular disc at SVP (Blankdiscshop).

    thanks for all your input......

Only thing with the datawrite greys is the dye has changed. Used to be fuji 03 on the 8x now svp showing as prodisk, but ukdvdr are showing same datawrite grey 8x with a new fuji dye..... Most confusing.
Seems at moment all manufactures are swoping dyes...
