  1. Hello,

I was wondering if theres anyway I could rip a dvd from a different region so that it will play on my standalone without it bugging me that the region is prohibited? Is there anyway to delete this or to do something?

    Thx in advance

Search all forums for REGION FREE. I'm sure one of the 348486458 posts that you find will help you. There is also a section called REGION FREE TOOLS in the Tools section << to your left.
    If in doubt, Google it.

Most rippers removes the region code, like DVD Shrink. But your player and tv must also support NTSC(reg1) or PAL(reg2).

I am NOT! looking for regional tools that are made to only make the dvd work on a PC. I think you should reread my post. I checked the region free tools and all of them remove the dvd region block only from PC.

Also DVD shrink doesnt work with all of the DVD's like the one i have now. Its giving me some errors.

Try ripping to your HD with DVD Decrypter. DVD Shrink sometimes fails to decrypt and produces errors. If you rip it to your HD any program should be able to compress it.

It's very possible (likely) that the Region Prohibited message you're getting is caused by the format and not the region. I've had several DVD players that would give a prohibited region message when the video was PAL instead of NTSC no matter what the region code was (the disks were usually region free).

If that's the case, then the video has to be converted to the other format (PAL or NTSC) and burned to a new disk.

That's news to me. About 200 discs made with DVDShrink without a single bad one.
