  1. Can someone send me a link to download this tool?

    Thanks, Rocco

  2. Thanks for the link , and I apoligize for what may be a silly question, but is DTOX the same as DVD2OneX?

If yes, then I already have that program and it is the one that keeps crashing on me.

If No, I was looking for DTOX as a means to correct whatever is causing the DVD2One to crash.
That is what was suggested to me by another person on the DVD2One board.
Does this make sense to you?

Thanks in advance for the help.

It might be a bad DVD. Does it crash on all DVDs or just one or 2? Also, you can try trashing its preferences file, and maybe disabling APE (or the hacks that use it) if you use that.

    Hi Guys,

I am having the same issue with quitting in conversion after MTR ing a DVD.

    Dear evdberg
    Hope you can help me.

Any chance you might offer a solution?

I recieved another copy of the disc I am trying to shrink and it too rips fine but crashes DVD2One.

I did re-rip using DVD Backup and that file too also crashes DVD2One.

The one thing I cannot figure out is.......

When I insert the DVD I want to copy and do 'get info',
it returns a file size of 8.52 GB. Which is very odd as the other 3 disc in this set have files that have been authored as single layer 4.3GB or smaller and others who have the same DVD get this message.

The disc is only @4.3 GB but reads >8GB.

    >>Disc 4 shows these stats in DVD Decrypter:

    _NEC DVD+RW ND-2100AD 103D (ATA)
    Current Profile: DVD+R

    Disc Information:
    Status: Incomplete
    Erasable: No
    Sessions: 2
    Sectors: 2,258,864
    Size: 4,626,153,472 bytes
    Time: 502:00:14 (MM:SS:FF)

    Physical Format Information (Last Recorded):
    Disc ID: CMC MAG-F01-00
    Book Type: DVD+R
    Part Version: 1
    Disc Size: 120mm
    Maximum Read Rate: Not Specified
    Number of Layers: 1
Track Path: Parallel Track Path (PTP)
    Linear Density: 0.267 um/bit
    Track Density: 0.74 um/track
First Physical Sector of Data Area: 196,608
Last Physical Sector of Data Area: 2,491,711
Last Physical Sector in Layer 0: 0

By comparison, Disc 3 shows the following:
    NEC DVD+RW ND-2100AD 103D (ATA)
    Current Profile: DVD+R

    Disc Information:
    Status: Incomplete
    Erasable: No
    Sessions: 2
    Sectors: 855,392
    Size: 1,751,842,816 bytes
    Time: 190:07:17 (MM:SS:FF)

    Physical Format Information (Last Recorded):
    Disc ID: CMC MAG-F01-00
    Book Type: DVD+R
    Part Version: 1
    Disc Size: 120mm
    Maximum Read Rate: Not Specified
    Number of Layers: 1
Track Path: Parallel Track Path (PTP)
    Linear Density: 0.267 um/bit
    Track Density: 0.74 um/track
First Physical Sector of Data Area: 196,608
Last Physical Sector of Data Area: 2,491,711
Last Physical Sector in Layer 0: 0

Note that in both cases, Status is "incomplete," presumably because the discs were not closed/finalized in the burning process. When I load the discs I burned after ripping from Rick's, they appear as Status "complete."<<

    Hopefully you can help.
    Thanks Rocco

So what size is the VIDEO_TS folder on that problem disc when you get info on it in the Finder? If it's already 4.3 GB, then DVD2OneX should be unnecessary. If it's over that, and you're getting these crashing problems, then it looks like an improperly mastered DVD. You can either try finding another copy of that movie, try using DVD2OneX in 'film' mode instead of disc copy mode, try using DVDRemaster instead, or as a last resort, try splitting the movie across two DVDs and remastering it manually with Sizzle or DVDStudioPro.

  7. Hey WW,

    Thanks for the info.

The Video_TS folder says 8.3, though it clearly isn't as it was burnt on a SL DVD.

There is no Audio_TS folder, instead there is the Audio_RM. Is this a problem?

I have recieved the disc from 2 different persons now and in both instances those copies crash DTOX.
I also tried copying w/o MTR but it crashed it too.

    It perplexes me.

I will ask if one of my trading buds has a copy burned on a mac and see what happens.
    Thanks for the great ideas.

  8. Have you tried a movie only copy? I seem to remember problems with AUDIO_RM (not part of DVD spec) folders and full disc copy.

  9. Hey PJ,

I have not tried movie only. The disc has several different sources of video. 2 are concert performances from 2 different sources, 1 is a portion of a TV performance and another from a 4th source. I thought movie only would not work for different sources like this on DTOX.

    I may try it though.

    Thanks ACR
