  1. I just noticed (10/20/04) that Hauppauge 250 and 350 pkgs. are now selling for $99 and $149 respectively directly from Hauppauge.com website.

For those of us who have been waiting for a price break, that's good news.

    There's also a new 150 card.

    UPDATE as of 10-26-2004

The HAUPPAUGE website seems to have suddenly reverted to fulllist pricing on its PVR 250 and 350. I'm guessing they got flak from vendors selling their product.

    Current pricing:
    PVR 250 = $149
    PVR 350 = $199

However COMPUSA is now offering the PVR 250 for $80 after $20 discount and $50 REBATE.

    Hello,

    That's good.

I bought my wintv pvr 250 about 2 years ago for at least $150 US (can't remember exact figure but around there). It is an excellent card. (mpeg only but quick and easy for making dvds ).

(go with the 350, it has the radio tuner built in as well ).

    Hello,

Read my earlier post. It has a built in radio tuner that can be programed like the tv card. I think it also has a built in mpeg2 decoder feature, not sure though.

  7. The 250 and 350 both use hardware mpeg2 encoding to input signals to the computer. The 350 also has hardware out mpeg2 decoding to allow analog output say to a TV monitor or VCR.

Go to www.hauppauge.com for a chart that compares features and functions.
