  1. A while back there was a problem that caused explorer to crash when the preview sidebar opened up the first frame of a video you had clicked on. Uninstalling Divx fixed this and I've been using ffdshow instead. I'm just wondering though if the latest version of Divx still has this problem.

    I have Dr. Divx 1.06 installed ... Win XP Home ... don't crash.

    SP2 is not installed ... I tried it ... I didn't care for it.

    I have Divx 5.21 Pro and it works great with SP2.

    @Lacywest,

    I encourage you to reinstall SP2.

    It has much needed security fixes.

    I use Copernic for web search ... and SP2 ... disabled some of its features.

    Those disabled features were handy.

    Well that is ok. I tuned off the security center myself but I still have it installed.

  6. I never installed SP2. I have no intention of doing so until all the patches for the fixes that fix the patched fixes for it come out.

  8. that seems to involve broken AVIs. None of these are broken. Regardless Divx 5.2.1 so far hasn't seemed to have the same problems.

    What about the fixes for the broken fixes that fixed whats broken in sp2 and was later fixed.

    Dude, it'll ever be fully fixed, and to wait this long is futile.

    and you wont get alot of the fixed fixes from the broken fix until sp2 is installed anyways.

    (say that 1-0 times out loud.)

  10. yeah its never ending with Windows. But until I determine that I really need it I'm not touching it. I'm firewalled and have a virus scanner constantly running as well as spybot and adaware. I haven't picked up anything yet despite not having SP2.
