Hi all,
I am new here, I just wonder we have any software that can burn directly avi, xvid, mpg, mpg4, wmv format to VCD or DVD so we can watch it on TV ?

Did you actually look at the 'Tools' section on the left? you can burn vcds directly with nero, but the options are very limited and you probably won't get a desired result. just get TMPGEnc and read a guide or two and it will be very easy to encode videos then burn them.

Yep, there are lots of guides that can give you the info you need to run the various conversions.

Then when I download some avi, xvid, mpg, mpg4, wmv movies format, I have to use video convertor tool to convert it before I can burn it directly to VCD or VDV. I just want to have to burn tool, it can burn and convert at the same time to my VCD and DVD . Do you know which one ? so sorry because we have too many application tool and I wan tto get the one you always use. Save me the money

I would never use the same tool to convert and burn. Stick to encoders to encode and burners to burn.
I use either Mainconcept MPEG Encoder or TMPGEnc to convert and Nero Burning ROM to burn. -
hey new guy , the only thing i have found that is actually going to work well is a dvdmaker card and software , you can get it at tigerdirect for 27 bucks and it will conert all formats to dvd format directey without burning it to your hdd first
i have a dw400a with 123 copydvd software , it will burn plus /r and rw good , i bought 500 hundred dvd-r off a ebay deal by mistake , can anyone tell me how i can get my burner to work with a dvd -r ??
