backing up PS2 Games

Hi im a newbie to PS2 games but im literate to movies rippping encoding etc can anyone give me an idea how to back up PS2 games (which software to use) i know how to use dvd decrypter and stuff is it just the same procedure?

Set DVD Decrypter to Iso Mode Read, rip the image. Set it to Iso Mode Write, burn the image. As for speed..whatever you're comfortable with. I burn at 4X, never a problem, but I'm not sure if I would burn faster than that. By the way how do you plan on booting these backups? You have a modchip or fliptop, no-solder mod, slide card and Swap Magic discs?

cheers bud i dont own a ps2 as yet but i like the idea of buying one and chipping it myself can u reccomend the best way to do it?

If you're buying it new I recommend finding a modchip installer. V9-11 units are NOT for beginners. As for chips..if you want lots of fancy bells and whistles and money isn't an issue, Matrix Infinity ($50US usually, or more). If you just want to boot backup PS1 and PS2 games and imported PS1 and PS2 games..a Duo 2 SE will treat you right and is VERY affordable at around $20.

If you're totally set on modding it yourself..get a nice soldering iron (I wouldnt go above 15 Watts) and tips no larger than .5MM. You'll need some solder as well, 30 AWG Kynar wire, wire strippers, magnifying glass or lens of some sorts, and a VERY steady hand. All in all, I think it will cost you more to mod it yourself then to have a pro do it, and at least if a pro does it you won't have to worry about potentially messing it up. Thanks a bunch pal the info uve supplied has been very helpful i get a lot of DVD`s excellent quality and have a static IP address so ive got my own server email me back if u want any and ill give u my address and access to the latest flicks its nice 2 b nice
