  1. Dear All,

After having tried everything that I could, here I am humbly asking for assistance.

I currently have two manners to go from original material to DVDs, either digitizing analogue material, manipulating, authoring and burning to DVD, or via my Sony DVD-Recorder.

In either case there are situations where I would like to take an existing DVD that I created and convert it back to either no sound AVI and WAV or even just a normal AVI.

I have tried everything that I could find but am unable to do it satisfactorily. Latest attempt was by using IMTool DVD-Ripper to get the VOBs on my hard drive but I am then unable to convert these back to AVI.

Any kind soul who could help?

Thanks in advance and best regards.

    Massimo.

Try Virtual Dub mod. Load the VOBs into it, select the codec, and Save As AVI... to your new AVI file name.

  3. Thanks Tommy,

Would I also be able to change resolution and/or frame rate at the same time if I needed to (i.e. PAL to NTSC)?

Can this generate separate video (mute video in the AVI file), and audio (WAV), files?

Thanks in advance and best regards.

    Massimo.

You can change the resolution with the Resize filter. Select File=>Save Wav to get your wave file. Frame rate can be changed by selecting Video=>Frame Rate.
