  1. So I use DVD Decrypter to rip, DVD Shrink to shrink, and DVD Decrypter to burn. Everything always works out perfect. But this was my first time backing up a hindi film. It was rather huge (over 8G), so I only wanted the movie only. I use DVD Decrypter to rip only the movie files. So far so good. I get it down to 6.3G

Onto DVD Shrink. I go to re-author, and there is a "Title 1" (~3.5G) in the main movie folder. I burn it, thinking this is the whole movie, but it turns out to be only half. So I go back to DVD Shrink again, and notice an Extra Files folder, and it has Title 2, Title 3, and Title 4. Each around .75G to 1G.

So I add all the Titles (1-4) in re-author mode and proceed to shrink and burn. When I play the DVD, it only plays basically Title 1, not even recognizing the other titles.

Have any of you ever encountered multiple main movie files? If I want to re-author in DVD Shrink, will the program only allow one movie file? And if so, how do I get around this?

And just to be curious, I went ahead and ripped the whole DVD and tried to shrink it, but DVD Shrink was only able to shrink it down to 5.6G, so basically I have to shrink it twice.

    Sorry for the long post

you should have put the whole dvd in shrink and re-author it that way -- not rip part of it out in decrypter first..

better yet - split it on 2 disks ..

I do have the whole DVD ripped on my HD now. But when you go re-author, there are multiple main movie files, and when I burn with multiple movie files, my DVD players only play the first movie file.

And I did try multiple disks. When I burned it the first time and only got half the movie, I tried burning Title 2, Title 3, and Title 4 on one DVD, but it only played Title 2. So I don't feel like burning this to 4 DVDs.

Easy just rip all the vobs from each tittle set (movie only) with dvd decrypter using file mode (vobs only not the ifo/bup files) now rename the vobs in the correct order .. VTS_01_1, VTS_01_2 etc (make sure they are named VTS_01_x otherwise it wont work) put all the files in the same folder then open ifoedit and select "create new ifo's" (its can be found at the bottom of the ifoedit window) select the first vob (VTS_01_1) and click ok .... when its finished processing you will have the full movie as 1 title set ... just shrink this with dvdshrink to fit a dvdr ..... note if there are more than 9 vobs in total this wont work .... try shrinking first as this will reduce the number of vobs
