am new and i dont know what to do with rar files

am downloading a film but its a dvd-r and is a rar. there are 6 chapters, can you tell me how i can put it togethere to put it on dvd to watch on a standard dvd player. Also is there a way for me to watch the rar movie on the computer like a software or player that is compatable to playing this format.

make sure all the rars are in the same folder then right click on one and choose extract(either extract here or extract to a location of your choice).When you do this it will auto extract all and you should then be left with either a bin and cue or a video file(mpg or avi).
You will have to wait and see what format it is in before you ask how to convert it to dvd but dvdsanta encodes most file types to dvd format.Also its not a rar movie,rar is just the compression method used to compress the files although in most cases this is only done with movie files so as to split it up into several file parts as compressing video files is rather a waste of time as its already compressed anyway in most cases.

sounds like warez.....

fyi- rar is simply a compression algorithm, kind of like zip....

Oh yeah, and make sure you have winRAR (http://www.rarlab.com), or you wont be able to do anything

What you downloaded is more than likely warez...unless a family member or friend rar'd a personal video.

There is no way to watch a "rar movie", you have to put it back together.
