  1. when I yesterday tried to make my first DVD in 'Magix: Movies to CD & DVD' I wanted to make the DVD to big for a writable DVD so I could get the files on my harddrive and then compress these large files in DVDshrink. But when I got my 11GB of VOB/IFO files I found that the quality of these was way worst than the original ones. So what I need help with is the settings.. Anyone know the settings should be ?
    Suck me sideways..

Not sure what your source is (analog, digital) or format (avi, mpeg) but if youu're encoding from an analog source to mpg the I suspect it may be the encoder used by Magix. Not many people on the forum use Magix as far as I can tell so you might not receive much feedback. I did run across these product review comments from PCPlus.

Despite having a huge number of professional level parameters to set, this encoder produces quite disappointing results. Even on the highest quality settings, DVD footage is noticeably blocky, and fast motion video tends to smear and tear. Admittedly, we’ve been spoiled by quality encoders with much higher price tags, but this weak link in an otherwise superb application is a disappointment.
